Stray bullet injures child in her home in Nyala

Celebratory gunfire by government troops for Eid Al Fitr causes accident The child Sumaya Idriss Issa was hit by a random bullet that entered a house in Hai El Riyadh, east of Nyala at eight thirty in the evening of Thursday.  One of the members of the child’s family stated that heavy random gunfire from armed men affiliated to the government in the neighborhood went on for more than half an hour on Thursday. He said that Sumaya was in her family’s house when she was hit by the bullet that went through her shoulder and hand.

The source added that the family called the police more than three times for aid of the child but the police did not show up and they were forced to take her to the hospital using one of the neighbors’ cars. He also appealed to the governor to intervene to end the shooting incidents in the city of Nyala and to protect the civilians.
