Staff strike after attack at Nertiti hospital, Central Darfur

Staff and doctors of Nertiti hospital in Central Darfur went on strike on Sunday in protest against an attack on hospital staff by armed men on Saturday evening.The armed men also stole mobile phones and money from the staff, including employee Habib Ishaq Abubakr and pharmacist Ahmed Khalil Idriss. Doctor Mohamed Haroun was injured in the attack when the militants attempted to steal his motorcycle. Residents of Nertiti told Radio Dabanga that the hospital remained closed due to the strike throughout the day on Sunday. A medical source stated that the hospital staff demanded local as well as state authorities to provide security and full protection for the hospital.
