SRF ‘liberates’ Surkum
The Sudan Revolutionary Front (SRF) announced liberating the area of Surkum in Blue Nile state after a battle against government troops, which lasted four days, on Sunday afternoon October 14, Radio Dabanga has learned. Arnu Ngutolo Lodi, SPLA-N military spokesman, told Radio Dabanga that SRF troops managed to clear the area of Surkum and that the government troops suffered heavy losses during the battles. Lodi asserted that SRF troops seized two tanks and two Land Cruiser vehicles from the government. South Kordofan In regard to South Kordofan, Lodi told Radio Dabanga that SRF troops killed seven government troops’ elements in the battle, including a lieutenant. The military spokesman added that SRF destroyed and dispersed a convoy of government troops between the villages of Angarto and Hajar Jawad on the road to Kadugli Dilling on Thursday October 11. He emphasized that government forces and its militias will remain a ‘legitimate’ target for SPLA. Rebel forces attack village of Umm Dehelib The governor of South Kordofan, Ahmed Haroun, said that rebel forces attacked the village of Umm Dehelib, in Kalogi locality on Sunday morning. Haroun explained that government forces responded to the rebel attack and killed 12 rebel elements, injured another dozen and captured one. He added that four citizens were killed during the battle.
