South Kordofan teachers refuse to record political affiliation
Teachers in El Qoz locality in northern South Kordofan have refused to record their political affiliation during a meeting of the locality’s Education Council.
“The El Qoz director of education, Hassan Hussein El Ghayib, distributed forms to the teachers attending in which we had to fill in our political preferences,” a teacher told Radio Dabanga from the locality’s capital Dibebad.
He said that “most of the teachers felt very embarrassed and refused to fill in the forms”, and warned for the consequences “of mixing politics with education”.
