South Darfur, Unicef sign $9m childcare agreement
The government of South Darfur and the Unicef have signed a $9.2 million agreement to implement childcare projects and other services in the state.
South Darfur Governor Maj Gen Hashim Khaled signed the agreement on behalf of the state government, while Anthony Aspalon, director of the UN Children’s Fund signed on behalf of Unicef.
The Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reported that Aspalon expressed his happiness about the possibility to provide a number of services to the children and their families in South Darfur.
As for the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, he urged the Sudanese to be cautious and keep to the recommendations published by the Sudanese Ministry of Health in cooperation with the World Health Organisation.
