South Darfur: Taisha, Salamat reconciliation postponed
The reconciliation conference between the Taisha and Salamat has been postponed for a month. On Tuesday, the governor of South Darfur, Maj. Gen. Adam Mahmoud Jarelnabi, announced the postponement of the reconciliation conference between Taisha and Salamat for a month. The chieftain of the Salamat tribe, Jibril Hassan Adam, told Radio Dabanga from Khartoum that the decision to delay the conference was made during a meeting of a Salamat reconciliation delegation and the governor of South Darfur in Nyala on Tuesday. He explained that the conference was postponed because the Taisha delegation did not turn up at the preparation meeting on Tuesday. “It is the second consecutive time that they did not appear.” Adam held the South Darfur State authorities and the federal government responsible for any attack against Salamat by Taisha as a result of this postponement.
