South Darfur displaced fear random arrests
Security authorities arrested more than 15 displaced people in Kass, South Darfur, between Sunday and Tuesday, and took them to an unknown destination. The coordinator of the Kass camps told Radio Dabanga that this is part of a campaign of arrests that has been launched by security authorities. The detainees are accused of belonging to rebel armed movements. “There are a number of missing persons have not yet been identified and the displaced people are living in a state of severe panic and fear,” the coordinator said. “The raids and arrests by security service are random.” The few names the coordinator could list are Hassan Hussein, Mohammed Eisa, Abubakar Mohammed, Mohammed, Al Taj, Hussein, and another Taj who is a basic school teacher.
