JEM says aerial attacks cause death of four civilians and over hundred livestockThe Sudanese Air Force (SAF) bombed areas of Tawiil, Beer Togud and Milli in South Darfur, the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) said on Sunday.In a statement released on Sunday, the JEM said that the bombing had resulted in the death of four civilians, 40 camels and over 70 cattle. Mohammed Yagoub, spokesperson of the JEM, said, “The bombing also led to the destruction of temporary shelters and water resources in those areas.”The JEM condemned these attacks and called on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to investigate the bombings and bring the perpetrators to justice immediately.“There should be a no-fly zone over the skies of Darfur, South Kordofan and Blue Bile,” Yagoub told Radio Dabanga.Civilian confirms air strikeA civilian from South Darfur’s Aljorin locality confirmed Friday’s air strikes in Alrehaid Aboutaib and Aljorin localities.The witness told Radio Dabanga that the aerial bombing took place at four in the afternoon. “About 34 bombs were dropped in the area. It injured a 10-year-old resident Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed. The bombings also killed nearly 30 cattle,” he said.Reportedly, the fire caused by the air raid spread to the plantations in the region. “Three shepherds from the region are missing. We don’t have any traces of them,” the citizen who spoke to Radio Dabanga said. The missing people are Hamed Ibrahim Hamed, Atayeb Muhammad and Zakaria Issa Hussein.He appealed to the government on behalf of all citizens to stop indiscriminate bombing which had caused damage in the region. He also pleaded with the opposition army to leave civilian areas so that the Sudanese government will stop targeting them.
