SLM-AW releases two army officers in North Darfur
The Sudan Liberation Movement led by Abdel Wahid El Nur (SLM-AW) announced the release of two of the prisoners who were captured at the battle of Disa in North Darfur on Friday. Mustafa Tambur, the military spokesman for the SLM-AW, told Radio Dabanga that on Friday they released Corporal Hassan Adam Musa Ismail and Sergeant Izzeldin Mahmoud Mohamed Birinji. They were captured in the battle of Disa, 30km north of Kutum town, on 2 January this year.The Sudanese army officers were handed to their families through representatives of the native administration in North Darfur, as the Sudanese government has suspended the activities of the international Red Cross in the country.
