Six men sentenced to death by hanging in El Fasher
The special court for crimes committed in Darfur, headed by judge Tarig Khalil, sentenced six defendants to death by hanging in El Fasher, North Darfur, on Sunday. The six were found guilty of killing citizens in Abu Zereiga, North Darfur. Muawiya El Haj, representative of the attorney general’s office for crimes committed in Darfur, said the court had convicted the defendants for killing a citizen in front of a crowd of people in a public area in Abu Zereiga, Dar el-Salaam locality in North Darfur.He explained that the death sentence was issued after the victim’s family demanded retaliation.
