Shopkeepers strike in Al Fardus over crime spree
Traders in the town of Al Fardus in South Darfur closed their shops yesterday in protest of constant break-ins at their shops at night.
Traders in the town of Al Fardus in South Darfur closed their shops yesterday in protest of constant break-ins at their shops at night. A trader told Radio Dabanga that unidentified gunmen looted yesterday a perfume shop and two days before had looted 13 shops. The market was also raided, and a week ago the Al Fardus school, where teachers were robbed at gunpoint. Traders demanded that local authorities protect the property of merchants and deter criminals.
