Seven women burnt to death

They had refused to leave their homes after a “ bloody massacre” that took place one week ago

Seven elderly women from Ajra were reportedly burnt to death in North Darfur’s Azban village on Sunday.The son of one of the deceased women told Radio Dabanga that government militia riding Land Cruisers, horses and camels burnt the village of Azban on Sunday.

The village had been abandoned by its residents last week due to a “bloody massacre” that led to the death of three people and many casualties. He explained that the women who got burnt on Sunday had refused to leave their homes after the initial massacre.

He added that a number of other houses along with property were burnt by the armed men.
