Seven killed in attacks in Tawila, North Darfur
Unidentified gunmen shoot dead six herders and wound two others. In a retaliation attack, herders kill the leader of the group of gunmen.
Seven people died in attacks near Tawila in North Darfur on Wednesday. In an attack by unidentified gunmen, six herders were killed at Jebel Kosa area. Two others were injured. The leader of the gunmen was killed in a retaliation attack.
This was reported by a witness to Radio Dabanga. He claimed that eight militants, riding on the backs of camels and horses, opened fire on a group of herders at Jebel Kosa, 20 km from Tawila. Six of them died on the spot.
He added that herders confronted the attackers, and killed their leader. They took his mobile phone.
