Seven injured in civil clash in Sudan’s South Kordofan
A dispute and allegations of property theft sparked a violent clash between two groups of residents of El Abbassiya in South Kordofan on Monday.
A dispute and allegations of property theft sparked a violent clash between two groups of residents of El Abbassiya in South Kordofan on Monday.
Witnesses from El Abbassiya told Radio Dabanga that the clashes erupted after the groups from different neighbourhoods exchanged accusations of property theft.
Four residents of the Tegeli neighbourhood were injured. Two of them were taken to Um Rawaba hospital in a serious condition. The others are in a in stable condition at El Abbassiya hospital.
Three residents of the El Kawahla neighbourhood were also injured.
Witnesses described the situation in the town as ‘tense’. Security services and police closed the ton’s Monday market to prevent the outbreak of further clashes.
