Sennar security forces arrest member of Darfur Students Association
The Sudanese security forces of Sennar state have reportedly arrested Sheikh El Din Ishaq Abdallah, a university student from South Darfur. He has been taken to the Security Headquarters of the city. A student of the University of Sennar reported to Radio Dabanga that a number of security men driving a Land Cruiser arrested Abdallah, a third level student at the Faculty of Sharia and Law, at the University of Sennar. Abdallah is also Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Darfur Students Association of the university. He was arrested at 11am on Tuesday while he was having breakfast in one of the shops near the university and taken to the Security Headquarters of Sennar. The reporting student expressed his concern that Abdallah may be subjected to torture or bad treatment. He appealed to humanitarian and human rights organisations to intervene and ensure that Abdallah either be released or brought to justice.
