Security forces’ site attacked in Central Darfur
The site of the security forces in Mukjar, Central Darfur, was attacked by militiamen on Wednesday. Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a resident from Mukjar reported that heavy shooting broke out between militiamen and security troops in front of the security forces’ office of Mukjar at about 9am. According to the witness, the attackers apparently intended to steal the vehicles of the security forces. The security troops managed to repel the militiamen with the support of the police. There were no casualties. The witness added that the heavy shooting terrified the people in the hospital of Mukjar, located 20m from the security forces’ site. Some of the patients and their relatives fled the hospital. The market closed, and schools and government institutions shut their doors.The market was opened again after two hours. File photo
