A schoolgirl and a pregnant woman were gang-raped on Tuesday. In two separate incidents, in the area east of Kutum, North Darfur
The schoolgirl (12) was ambushed by four militiamen on her way to fetch water from a well near to Kalakala village, six kilometres east of Kutum.
“They pulled her off her donkey and raped her alternately,” a relative of the victim told radio Dabanga.
She added that on the same day, a group of militiamen raped a pregnant woman (28) on her farm near the village of Wastani, five kilometres east of Kutum.
“She had to be transferred to Kutum hospital for treatment,” she said. “Luckily she did not lose her unborn baby.”
