A herder told Radio Dabanga that armed men on camels and horses attacked the herders in the area of Koto. They opened fire into the air before beating and flogging the herders. They stole 30 goats from them.
Thousands of people in Koto, Dali, Korofallah and Hashaba lost their homes during attacks by militiamen in December last year. Weeks later, the Sudanese government launched its large-scale military operations and aerial offensive against the armed rebels in Jebel Marra.
In South Darfur, armed robbers stole SDG12,000 ($1,960) from Muwaro water station in Gireida locality. A witness said that the robbers first attacked the house of the water station money collector. They took the money from the station revenues.
