Road builders kidnapped by gunmen in North Darfur

An engineer and five employees of a road-building firm have been kidnapped in North Darfur on Tuesday. A witness told radio Dabanga that engineer Al Mohanedi and the workers were stopped by “unknown gunmen” on the road between Zamzam camp and Tabit in the Gallab area. The men had been drilling a well in the Tabit area and were on their way to El Fasher. As part of the kidnapping, the gunmen hijacked a Mercedes and two Land Cruisers. An engineer and five employees of a road-building firm have been kidnapped in North Darfur on Tuesday.

A witness told radio Dabanga that engineer Al Mohanedi and the workers were stopped by “unknown gunmen” on the road between Zamzam camp and Tabit in the Gallab area. The men had been drilling a well in the Tabit area and were on their way to El Fasher.

As part of the kidnapping, the gunmen hijacked a Mercedes and two Land Cruisers.
