Renewed air raids on East Jebel Marra; rebels attack North Darfur garrison
The Sudanese Air Force reportedly bombed the areas north of Malam and Abu Hamra, East Jebel Marra on Tuesday afternoon. The Military Spokesman for the Sudan Liberation Movement-Minni Minawi, (SLM-MM) Adam Salih, reported to Radio Dabanga that an Antonov dropped 11 bombs north of Malam, killing a number of livestock and burning large tracts of pasture and farmlands. Salih added that the bombing of civilian areas and the destruction of the livelihoods of citizens confirms “that the Khartoum regime continues its systematic policies to impoverish and displace the residents of Darfur”.
