Religion teacher killed in brutal attack in Serba
On Wednesday four armed men killed a man named as Sheikh Malik Abdullah, more commonly known as Abu Muhammedayn, in Manjura, Sherba locality in West Darfur. A witness told Radio Dabanga four armed men intercepted a group of children whilst they were returning home from Islamic lessons with the Sheikh. The gunmen beat and whipped the children, on hearing their screams the teacher intervened. A gunman then attacked Abu Muhammedayn, stabbing him three times in the stomach, and once in a kidney before proceeding to shoot him five times in the head. The Sheikh died instantly. The witness added residents were able to chase and capture the gunmen, and hand them over to police, however he said authorities are yet to take any action towards the perpetrators.
