Relief items stolen in North Darfur’s Birkat Seira
A group of militiamen stole the load of two lorries in Saraf Umra locality, North Darfur, on Monday. The load consisted of commodities donated by the Darfur Regional Authority (DRA) to the needy in the area of Birkat Seira.
Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a member of the native administration of Birkat Seira reported that the DRA had sent two lorries, loaded with food stuffs, such as sugar, oil, lentils, and sorghum, and non-food items, including plastic sheets and blankets for the needy in the area.

Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a member of the native administration of Birkat Seira reported that the DRA had sent two lorries, loaded with food stuffs, such as sugar, oil, lentils, and sorghum, and non-food items, including plastic sheets and blankets for the needy in the area.
“In Saraf Umra town, the goods were distributed to the native administration leaders of Birkat Seira. When we arrived in Birkat Seira, a group of government-backed militiamen in vehicles, and others on camelback, robbed us of all the items at gunpoint.”
