Refugee schools in eastern Chad to follow domestic curriculum
The UNHCR, in collaboration with the Chadian Ministry of Education, will replace the Sudanese curriculum by the Chadian one in the refugee camp schools in eastern Chad. “The UNCHR, together with the Chadian Ministry of Education, will organise trainings for the 321 basic and secondary school teachers in the 11 refugee camps, to work with the Chadian curriculum, that will be used the coming school year, starting on 1 October,” secondary school teacher El Sadeg Yagoub, teacher told Radio Dabanga from Touloum refugee camp. The teacher explained that the replacement of the curriculum was agreed on by Chad and Sudan, in cooperation with UNCHR. “There is not much difference between the two curricula.
