Random shootings at night spark fear at Hamidiya camp
Heavy shooting in Hamidiya camp, Zalingei locality in Central Darfur has caused widespread panic and fear among the displaced. It was reported that unidentified gunmen opened fire inside the camp early Wednesday morning.A Zalingei camps’ coordinator told Radio Dabanga that heavy shooting early Wednesday morning woke up the displaced and pointed out that this incident was the first of its kind since the Abu Manga incidents last year.The coordinator blamed the security forces and asked UNAMID to protect the displaced and resume the night patrols, which were stopped two months ago.Radio Dabanga file photo
