Proliferation of ‘alien ants’ in Kass camp, South Darfur
An odd kind of ants appeared at Abdel Jabbar-B camp in Kass locality, South Darfur, terrifying the camp residents. The coordinator of the Kass camps for the displaced reported to Radio Dabanga that the camp population is suffering from the proliferation of “weirdly shaped ants in all parts of the camp”. “The ants are breeding rapidly in cooking utensils, especially in pots and pans with rests of cooking oil. The emergence of these weird ants is scaring the people immensely.” He appealed to the Central Darfur State health authorities to intervene, and combat the “alien insects”.
