Prices soar in Mukjar, Central Darfur

Residents of Mukjar complain about the soaring prices of consumer goods. Gunmen are stealing livestock from herders. The people in Mukjar locality are complaining about the continuing price rises, a listener told radio Dabanga from Mukjar town. “The price of a 100kg-sack of millet has risen to SDG700 ($123), a bottle of cooking oil to SDG30 ($5.25). A pound of dry okra now costs SDG50 ($8.75), and a pound of sugar SDG4 ($0.70).
