Population of South Kordofan’s Delling not allowed to buy much sugar, flour
Military Intelligence agents in Delling in northern South Kordofan have imposed restrictions on the people living in the area concerning the purchase of basic commodities.
Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a resident of Delling town reported that the Military intelligence in the area continue to prohibit the people in the area to buy basic commodities such as sugar, flour, and oil in sufficient quantities.
“They claim that we smuggle the goods to areas under control of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North,” he said.

“They claim that we smuggle the goods to areas under control of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North,” he said.
He complained that the ensuing shortage of basic commodities has led to price rises. “In the past week, the price of a [100kg] sack of sugar rose to SDG 630 ($94) from SDG 580 ($87).”
An education worker living near Delling reported that intelligence agents prevented him and his colleagues from transferring sorghum distributed by the Teachers’ Union, from the town to their villages, “despite obtaining an official permit to do so”.
