Policeman killed, one kidnapped in North Darfur’s Kabkabiya

A policeman was shot, and a civilian kidnapped, at the hands of pro-government militiamen in two separate incidents in Kabkabiya town, North Darfur, on Thursday. A listener told Radio Dabanga that three pro-government militia elements attacked policeman Abdel Moneim Ayoub Einad at 9 pm, when he was on his way from the central police station in Kabkabiya to El Kubri neighbourhood. The men stabbed Einad with a knife before they opened fire and killed him on the spot. Then, they looted his belongings, including his mobile phone, the listener said. In another incident, militiamen riding on nine motorcycles stormed the house of Khalil Adam Saleh at 9 pm in El Safa neighbourhood. They kidnapped one of the guests in his house, Saleh Adam Suleiman, and took him to an unknown destination. The listener said that the militiamen fired a hail of bullets into the air before and after the kidnapping. This scared the residents in El Safa and the surrounding neighbourhoods.
