Police seizes vehicles in North Darfur to curb insecurity
A joint security force seizes vehicles and motorcycles in El Fasher. The campaign is one of the attempts by the new state government to curb insecurity.
A number of vehicles and motorcycles were seized in a raid by a joint security force in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur. Their raid campaign started three days ago, in one of the attempts by the new state government to curb insecurity.
The state's director of police, Maj. Gen. El Tirefi Idris Dafallah, said that the raid campaign by the joint force will cover all localities in North Darfur, and continue until Eid El Fitr in two weeks.
This week, the force consisting of police and security service managed to seize sixteen unlicensed vehicles and 32 motorcycles.
The newly appointed governor of North Darfur State, Eng. Abdelwahid Yousef Ibrahim, has pledged to address the rampant security issues in the state and deter outlaws. Ibrahim asked representatives from Kabkabiya, Saraf Umra, and El Waha localities to play an active role in these efforts and to restore the prestige of the state.
