Police kill gang member in South Darfur capital

The Khartoum Bilal district of Nyala, capital of South Darfur, witnessed a violent confrontation between gangs and police forces on Wednesday. One gang member was killed and another two were arrested.Other members of the gang, specialised in stealing mobile phones, carjacked three vehicles: two from civilians, and one from a Turkish hospital in Nyala, sources told Radio Dabanga.The Commissioner of Nyala North locality, El Hadi Eisa, said in a press statement that the police forces managed to catch the perpetrators with the help of civilians.
