Protests in Sudan entered their fifth consecutive day on Friday following an announcement by President Omar Al Bashir that he was lifting petrol subsidies in the country, leading to sharp price increase of fuel and commodities.The number of people reportedly killed by government forces on Tuesday and Wednesday went up to 140 as Radio Dabanga reports, based on medical officers and other trusted sources. In Omdurman alone, at least 79 people were filled by bullets to the head and the chest. At numerous places relatives have built the traditional funeral tents outside the houses of the victims to allow people to pay their condolences.The media are not allowed to publish pictures of the riots and killings of demonstrators, the security services have ordered. This week the government shut down the Internet in Sudan for a whole day. Protests are occuring in Khartoum, Omdurman, Wad Madani, Port Sudan, El Obeid, among other towns.Radio Dabanga has collected photos on the protests as published on Twitter by several sources.
