One killed, two injured by ‘pro-government militia’ in Central Darfur
A displaced man has been killed and a woman injured by pro-government militiamen in Central Darfur on Tuesday. Separately, militiamen injured a high school student near Nertiti.Suleiman Saleh Adam Ahmed was killed and Khadija Sadiq Khamis was wounded when government militiamen opened fire on them in the area of Tilagu, northeast of Zalingei in Central Darfur.A Zalingei camp coordinator from Hamedia camp told Radio Dabanga that Khamis was immediately evacuated to Zalingei hospital.While the exact reason for this attack is not clear, the coordinator appealed to the international community to immediately intervene to resolve the continued attacks by pro-government militia on the displaced and the robbing of civilians.In a separate incident, an 18-year-old secondary school student, Mohamed Saleh Abdel Karim, was injured in his hand and both legs near the Nertiti secondary school on Tuesday, also in Central Darfur.Reportedly, militiamen on a camel attempted to steal his mobile phone. Karim is displaced, and lives in the Nertiti South camp. He was taken to hospital after the attack.File photo
