The residents of Kadugli in South Kordofan have refused the establishment of a gold mining factory that uses cyanide in its processes, after the residents of Alleri refused the establishment of the same factory in their area.

An activist told Radio Dabanga that the company which was approved Governor Eisa Abaker is now located 1.6 kilometres north of El Shaeer district in Kadugli.
The activist has called on the residents of the area to refuse the establishment of the factory which can cause many deadly diseases.
The residents of Kadugli have complained of deteriorating health, water, and electricity services and rise of food prices and consumer goods.
They have demanded the authorities to “provide the basic services rather than preoccupation with issues that have nothing to do with people's lives and health”.
