North Darfur farmers union dissatisfied with government aid
Sadig Adam Badawi, head of the Farmers’ Union of North Darfur, said that the farmers need speedier provision of seeds, funding and fertilizers to ensure the success of the agricultural season. Sadig said that farmers had planted already some crops through their own individual efforts, after failing to obtain the required funding from the government. He added that the lack of basic production inputs essential to farmers threatenes their work. Some areas will not be cultivated and the production of target corps in North Darfur is in jeopardy, he said.
