North Darfur families call for release abducted relatives
The families of two young men abducted by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in North Darfur in March, appealed to the RSF to release them. Madani Suleiman Ibrahim (15) and El Digeil Hamed Ismail (25) were abducted by elements of the RSF during attacks on the area of Donki Ba’ashim in Kutum locality, North Darfur, on 23 March, a relative of one of the abducted told Radio Dabanga. “The militiamen took them to an unknown destination. We have not heard from them, or about their whereabouts ever since.” Both families appealed through Radio Dabanga to the government RSF to immediately release their two sons. They demand from the authorities, humanitarian and human rights organisations to intervene, find out the whereabouts of their sons, and act for their release. NISSThe RSF is a paramilitary force, commanded by the National Intelligence and Security Service(NISS). Its troops have been recruited in the second half of last year to fight the armed movements in Darfur, South Kordofan and the Blue Nile. Since February this year, they have launched widespread attacks on rural areas in South and North Darfur, burning villages to the ground after having looted them. Their attacks have caused the displacement of about 300,000 Darfuris.
