On Friday the Commissioner of El Sareif Beni Hussein locality in North Darfur, has issued a decision banning carrying arms in the locality, except by the regular forces. Garments that hide or mask the face as well as drug dealing or trafficking are also covered under the ban.
Commissioner Mohammed Ismail Hamid said that anyone who violates the decision will be subject to a prison sentence or a fine. He did not stipulate the length of the sentence or the amount of the fine.
