North Bahr El Ghazal and South Darfur hold reconciliation conference

A reconciliation conference between the Dinka Malwal and the Arab Rizeigat was held in Aweil in Northern Bahr el Ghazal on Saturday.

A reconciliation conference between the Dinka Malwal and the Arab Rizeigat was held in Aweil in Northern Bahr el Ghazal on Saturday.  The governor of North Bahr El Ghazal, Paul Mallowang Awan welcomed the conference saying such an initiative will serve the interests of both parties in order to help settle their differences and live in peace.

The head of the Rizeigat delegation to the conference, Mohammad Ali Qureshi, stressed the need for peaceful coexistence between the two neighboring tribes. The conference, which is expected to continue for three days, is likely to adopt measures to regulate grazing in both contested areas.
