Mother and son killed in Jebel Marra robbery

A woman and her son were killed by paramilitaries in Mashrou Abu Zeid in Jebel Marra on Thursday afternoon.

A witness told Radio Dabanga that members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), driving a vehicle with a Dushka machine gun mounted on top, opened fire on Um El Gheir Adam Bakhit and her son Adam Bakhit Yahya when they were out collecting firewood. Both were killed on the spot.

The RSF members took their money and belongings, and their donkey with them.

Mashrou Abu Zeid is located in a major farming area. In the last months of 2015, Radio Dabanga reported several incidents where the area was attacked, villages were raided and women were raped in the vicinity of the village.
