A warplane fired two missiles over the village of Um Gafala, nine kilometers north of Khor Abeche in South Darfur on Wednesday.The United Nations African Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) was quoted in a Darfuri newspaper as saying that the aircraft was flying at a low altitude over the area of Khor Abeche.

The UNAMID patrols reported having discovered rockets in the village, but found no injuries or damage in the region.

Air strikes on S Kordofan

Meanwhile, the Sudanese Air Force (SAF) launched air strikes on the Nuba Mountains in South Kordofan on Sunday, according to sources in the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-South Kordofan’s (SPLM-SK) Youth organization.

There were allegedly 43 air strikes in the region – 10 in Al Buram, seven in the Haiban, six in Kauda, eight in Um Duren, six Dilamini in addition to other areas in South Kordofan – according to Mubarak Abdur Rahman Ahmed, head of the SPLM-SK (Youth).

The raids have led to many injuries and damage to crops and livestock, Mubarak told Radio Dabanga.
