Militiamen open fire on bus in South Darfur, kill passenger
Various incidents in South Darfur have led to the kiling of a bus passenger, and the serious wounding of four, at the hands of militiamen, or in grenade explosions.
One person was killed, and another injured in two separate incidents in Kass locality, South Darfur, at the hands of militiamen. In Gireida locality, three people were seriously injured by grenade explosions on Tuesday.
A witness reported that militiamen opened fire on a vehicle that carried a number of passengers as they were on their way back after shopping at Murei market, west of Kass.
The shooting resulted in the death of one passenger.
In the second incident, pro-government militiamen attacked a man on his motorcycle, who was carrying his ill son to the hospital. The men critically wounded him, robbed him, and stole his motorcycle. Both were taken to Kass hospital after the assault.
An activist in Gireida area told Radio Dabanga that a grenade exploded on a elderly woman who was working on the fields on Tuesday. She sustained serious injuries and was transferred to the hospital.
In another incident, a grenade exploded when two children were playing outside. They also sustained serious injuries. One of the children was transported to a hospital in Nyala, in a critical condition.
“Do not touch any strange objects,” the activist appealed to the listeners, in particular to children.
