Militiamen attack market of Mukjar, Central Darfur
Militiamen reportedly attacked the market of Mukjar, Cental Darfur, at about 8pm on Sunday evening an alleged attempt to plunder it. When the police confronted them it led to a heavy exchange of fire. Witnesses speaking to Radio Dabanga said that the battle caused horror and anxiety among the residents of Mukjar because of the use of heavy weapons. Four donkeys were killed, according to the witnesses, and two donkeys and other commodities were stolen from the market before the police confronted the perpetrators which caused them to flee.
