Militia raids Malwi village in South Darfur
A young man was shot dead, eight people were injured, and 49 others went missing on Sunday, in an attack by militiamen on the village of Malwi in Gireida locality, South Darfur. “A group of about 150 government-backed militiamen wearing uniforms raided Malwi village, east of Gireida town, on Sunday”, a relative of the student reported to Radio Dabanga from Malwi.“Yousif Adam Haroun, a secondary school student, was hit by bullets, and died instantly. Eight people were injured. They were transferred to Gireida hospital for treatment. Three of them, Mohammed Jaran, Adam Ali, and Mohamed El Zein Osman, are in a critical condition.” “After the gunmen had pillaged the entire village, we discovered that 49 people were missing.
