Militia attack leaves 3 killed, 4 injured
An attack by militants in the locality of Saraf Omra in North Darfur on Saturday evening, 29 December, left three people killed and another three wounded. A victim’s relative told Radio Dabanga that gunmen in Land Cruiser vehicles and on horses led by a man named Ahmed Arda attacked the village of Kulla around 9 pm on Saturday evening. The relative added that the incident led to the death of two villagers, Ramadan Abdul Jabbar and Osama Ber Najal, a motorcycle mechanic and also killed one of the militants. He explained that four people were wounded in the attack, among them Mekka Saleh Nour who was taken to Kabkabiya hospital for treatment. It was reported that the village was still under siege by the gunmen on Sunday and that a committee of Kabkabiya’s civil administration moved to the site under military escort to ‘contain the problem’.
