Military plane crashes in El Obeid

At least six soldiers were killed on Thursday when a military aircraft crashed in El Obeid in North Kordofan, the Sudanese armed forces have confirmed. The Ababil military aircraft was carrying arms and ammunition on an ‘administrative mission’. On leaving the garrison’s airport in the district of Tayba, the plane fell minutes later causing three large explosions that rocked the area, shattering windows in homes throughout El Obeid. Two of the pilots killed were named as Muhammed Saleh, and Muhammed Taha. The others remain unknown. There were no reports of civilian casualties.
