With a 3-1 victory over El Amel Attbarawi on Wednesday, Merreikh Nyala is now fifth in Sudan’s Premier League football.
The game was attended by a large crowd in Nyala Stadium on Wednesday evening and resulted in a 3-1 win for Merreikh Nyala. The match in the 13th round was refereed by Abdelmajid Fadel, with assistance from Ali Yagoub, Abdellatif Mohamed, and Malick Eisa.
According to local media, the turnout at the stadium was worth SDG 100,000 ($16.300) in ticket sales.
With its fifth position, Merreikh Nyala has the highest overall score of all Darfuri teams, after winning nearly all games. It is scheduled to play its next match in the 15th round on 4 April against the current number three, El Merreikh.
