Merchant killed in South Darfur armed robbery
A merchant was shot dead on Sunday in an attack by militiamen on a lorry in the area of Yama in South Darfur. One of the merchant’s relatives told Radio Dabanga that “government-backed militiamen on camels and horses” opened fire on the lorry of Ismail Ismail Adam Abdel Karim, known as Ismail Dumbo, on the Nyala-Kass road on Sunday afternoon. The lorry, carrying passengers, and loaded with vegetables and fruit purchased in Jebel Marra, was on its way to Nyala. The gunmen shot the merchant dead on the spot, and robbed the passengers. One of the merchant’s relatives told Radio Dabanga that “government-backed militiamen on camels and horses” opened fire on the lorry of Ismail Ismail Adam Abdel Karim, known as Ismail Dumbo, on the Nyala-Kass road on Sunday afternoon.
