Mawasir Market investigation renews in El Fasher
The Commission of Inquiry in the case of the Mawasir Market is expected to have arrived to El Fasher yesterday. The commission was tasked by Minister of Justice Mohammed Bushara Dosa with investigating the Ponzi scheme that defrauded thousands of citizens earlier this year. The commision expects to expedite the completion of its work regarding funds in the possession of the accused.
The Commission of Inquiry in the case of the Mawasir Market is expected to have arrived to El Fasher yesterday. The commission was tasked by Minister of Justice Mohammed Bushara Dosa with investigating the Ponzi scheme that defrauded thousands of citizens earlier this year. The commision expects to expedite the completion of its work regarding funds in the possession of the accused.The chairman of the commission, Counselor Dr. Al Nazir Hamid Al Faki, said after a meeting with the Minister of Justice yesterday that the commission, which consists of 22 legal counselors, will work to implement the directives of the Minister of Justice. This visit is aimed at complementing the work of the previous one, to follow-up and review the cases and actions against those arrested. They may also issue arrest warrants against suspects who not been arrested.
On the other hand, the victims of the Mawasir Market have criticized the slow pace of justice in the case. One of the victims, speaking from El Fasher, said that the promises by the Minister of Justice have not yet been fulfilled.
