Man ‘tortured to death’ in South Kordofan
Members of the Military Intelligence (MI) have reportedly beaten-up and tortured six men in Abbasiya in South Kordofan. One of the victims succumbed to his wounds on Saturday.
Listeners told Radio Dabanga that El Doma Osman was detained, together with five others, by MI agents in Abbasiya after the Eid El Adha [Feast of the Sacrifice, the third week of August].
The men had publicly criticised an accident in which a motorcycle driver was run-over by an MI vehicle in the area.
They were taken to the MI headquarters in the locality and severely beaten and tortured for more than a week, the sources said. El Doma was then transferred to the hospital of Um Rawaba, where he died on Saturday.
The other five detainees are Ali Abdelrahman, Mustafa Abuljaz, Kamal Ali, Bahaeldin Jami, and Abbas Abdelmonim.
