Man fatally hit by train in South Darfur
A man was crushed to death by a train near Nyala, capital of South Darfur on Thursday.
It is the second incident of this kind this year that took place on the Nyalal-Bielel track, a camp sheikh of Kalma camp for the displaced in Nyala locality told Radio Dabanga.
“Some days before the start of Ramadan, another displaced was fatally crushed by the wheels of a train on the same place,” he said.

“On Friday, the remains of another Kalma camp resident was found being eaten by dogs. We buried him the same day.”
He said that they reported the incidents to Unamid, after the railway administration in Nyala. “They said that they are not responsible for any accident caused by a moving train, and told us to file a complaint at the headquarters of the railway corporation in Atbara [in River Nile state, northern Sudan].”
The camp sheikh commented that “no one seems to take responsibility for such incidents”.
