Lorries delayed at ‘toll gate’ in Kabkabiya, North Darfur
Militiamen intercepted 11 lorries loaded with commodities at a ‘toll gate’ in Kabkabiya, North Darfur, on Sunday.
They demanded that each driver pay the sum of SDG10,000 ($1,640), an activist from Kabkabiya told Radio Dabanga.
The lorries were on their way from Omdurman to Kutum in North Darfur, when militiamen stopped them near Ed El Nabag, 13 kilometres east of Kabkabiya town, she explained.

The delay has led to the rise of prices in the area.
She appealed to the government of North Darfur to intervene and remove the ‘militia gates’ set up along the road "as soon as possible".
